Terms & Conditions
HGA Golf Prizes — Hole-in-One Prize Program Official Terms & Conditions
Thank you for participating in an HGA Golf Prizes Hole-in-One contest. The following terms and conditions govern prize eligibility, contest requirements, and the rights of all parties. Please read them carefully before the tournament begins.
Section 1 — Contest Requirements
1.1 Venue & Course Conditions
The contest must take place on the green of a regulation hole at a regulation golf course. No hole or green may be specially prepared or altered from its normal playing condition, and the cup must be positioned within its standard location for regular play.
1.2 Shot Distance
To qualify, the hole-in-one attempt must be taken from the following minimum distances:
| Men | Women |
|---|---|
| 150 yards minimum | 130 yards minimum |
If a specific yardage range is selected (e.g., 160–169 yards), the shot must be taken from at least the minimum distance of that range. A longer distance may be selected by the tournament host. Any exception to the minimum distance requires prior written approval from HGA Golf Prizes.
1.3 Participant Registration
All contestants must be registered participants in the designated tournament.
1.4 Equipment
All golf equipment and the hole/cup must conform to current USGA or PGA specifications.
1.5 One Winner Per Contest
This is a one-time prize awarded to the first participant to make a hole-in-one at the designated hole. If more than one hole-in-one is recorded during the tournament, only the first qualifies. There is one winner per contest.
1.6 Required Witness
A non-golfing witness must be stationed at the designated hole for the duration of the contest and must personally observe the hole-in-one to validate the attempt.
Section 2 — Claiming Your Prize
2.1 Affidavit of Compliance
To receive the prize, the winner must have the following individuals sign an Affidavit of Compliance on the day of the tournament:
- The Head Golf Professional of the host course
- The Non-Golfing Witness stationed at the designated hole
Once the completed affidavit and all required documentation have been submitted to HGA Golf Prizes, a prize certificate with booking code and redemption instructions will be issued to the winner.
2.2 Reporting Deadline
The winner must be reported and the Affidavit of Compliance must be signed by both required parties on the same day as the tournament. Late submissions will not be accepted.
2.3 Sponsor Verification
Winning is contingent upon fulfilling all eligibility requirements set forth herein. All potential winners are subject to verification by HGA Golf Prizes, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the prize. A participant is not a winner of any prize unless and until eligibility has been verified and the participant has been notified that verification is complete. The prize remains the sole property of HGA Golf Prizes until delivered to the verified winner.
2.4 Tax Responsibilities
All taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The IRS requires documentation for prizes valued at $600.00 or more. HGA Golf Prizes will not deliver the prize until the winner has submitted a completed W-9. The winner is encouraged to consult a tax professional. HGA Golf Prizes takes no responsibility for any tax liability arising from acceptance of the prize.
